Happy National Cheeseburger Day! Here’s to that perfect combination of burger and grilled cheese and all your favorite ingredients in between. A cross between two diner classics, this decadent burger is sandwiched between a grilled cheese.
This burger is my husband and daughter’s favorite! Use your favorite cheese, we like American and White American cheese.
For the best burger, I sear the patties on my Bobbie Flay cast iron searing skillet.
- salt and pepper meat on both sides
- sear burgers for 3-5 minutes per side (depending on thickness) Reduce the heat slightly to medium-high and continue to cook until desired level of doneness. I use a lid to cover the burger
- set burgers aside
- In a separate skillet prepare bread like making a grilled cheese, add patty and cook until golden on the first side. Flip the sandwiches and cook until golden and the cheese is melted.
- top with your choice of lettuce, tomato, bacon and condiments. Slice and enjoy!
